President's Message:  Anne Meehan, Council President 2012-2013

What a year!  It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the IMA organization and work with so many talented and dedicated people on the Michigan Council.  Each of the Council members have been long term IMA members with a wealth of knowledge.  Many of them serve at the National level often elected to various boards and committees.  This involvement allows our Council and thus our chapters to be knowledgeable about all topics that affect us.  We have input in critical matters through our representation at the National level.

A Look Back

We have, once again, achieved much this past year.  We helped support students from MSU, GVSU and EMU attend the IMA Student Leadership Conference.  Our support of the future generation of CMA’s did not stop there as we also supported the Michiana Student Conference.  Thanks to the dedication and hard work of my fellow Council members we were also able to provide another successful Annual Conference with dynamic speakers and relevant topics.  The Global IMA demonstrated its support of the IMA Michigan Council by the presence of William Knese, the 2012-2013 Chair Elect.

A Look Ahead

Although my term in drawing to a close, the future of the IMA in Michigan is exciting!  Plans are well underway for a high impact Annual Conference in 2013!  Mark your calendars now for October 28, 2013.  For those wanting to gain some valuable knowledge, while taking in all of the excitement New Orleans has to offer, consider attending the IMA’s 94th Annual Conference & Exposition from June 22nd through June 26th, 2013.

But There is No Time Like The Present

As always, the Council and its members are here to serve the IMA Community.  Please feel free to contact any of the members should you need assistance finding a local chapter.  With eight active IMA chapters across the state, I urge you to attend chapter meetings – Get Involved!  Network! Grow Personally!  Grow Professionally!
