Welcome to the Saginaw Valley Chapter!

The Saginaw Valley Chapter members were shown an exciting night of baseball by the Great Lakes Loons.  Rall E. Camel was all wound up going into the last inning, prancing around in our section, stirring up some excitement.  Bases loaded, bottom of the ninth, two outs.  Loons hit a walk-off bunt base hit to win the game!  The Lansing team, with no option to catch an out at any base, let the ball roll all the way down the third base line to the bag before it stopped.  Loons win!  The members enjoyed the game, followed by fireworks and a country music concert and contributed to setting an all time attendance record.

President’s Message

September 2013

Say hello to the 2013-14 year at the Saginaw Valley Chapter of the IMA!   We have already scheduled four thought provoking meetings for the coming year beginning with a visit to Covenant in Saginaw in September.  The health care industry is thriving in the Great Lakes Bay Region.  Please come and see one of the success stories in the area.

We decided to switch things up and will hold our annual economic update in November.  Since the legislators seem to wait to so late in the year to make final laws about taxes, we have moved the tax update to January in order to give more complete information.  The November meeting will be held at Delta College and the January meeting will be held in Flint.

One thing has not changed. Our annual awards night in April will once again be held in at the NADA Building at Northwood University.  This is always a special night honoring CMAs, IMA membership years of service and students!

I hope you can join us, making important network connections and earning CPEs at the same time!

It is also important to note that the current board members are going on their third year of volunteering. We have openings for both Webmaster and Newsletter team leaders.  These positions could be combined if a person would be willing to do both.  The Webmaster team leader is responsible for updating the website according to IMA policy.  The Newsletter team leader is responsible for emailing our monthly newsletter 4-7 times per year.  Both positions only require approximately one hour prior to the Chapter meetings four times per year and attendance at board meetings after each meeting.  The outgoing team leaders will be available to assist in training the new board members for the positions.  Please consider attending our next meeting, September 18th and volunteering for your local chapter of the IMA.
