September marks the start of both Football Season and local chapter's professional education meetings. Your chapter and Michigan Council have been busy planning the educational events for the year. I know it will be another great year for the chapters in the Michigan Council area. Please visit your chapter's web site for meeting information. If you are not a member of the IMA, please visit the website for the chapter in your area. (See www.imamichigan.org/chapters)
I am very excited about this year's Fall Conference. It will be our 9th Annual Conference. We have a slate of excellent speakers. I am very happy to let you know that inflation has not hit the Fall Conference. The price for the conference is the same low price as last year. You can get 8 CPEs, breakfast, lunch, and great networking for this low price. The Fall Conference is scheduled for Monday, October 25th, at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing (See agenda and registration information at www.imamichigan.org/conference).
Your Michigan Council is still looking for a few good men and women to be on the board. It is a great opportunity and you will enjoy working with the other board members. Pleases consider being a board member. Please either call or emai me for more information.
Our next board meeting is Wednesday, September 1st. It is on Wednesday instead of Thursday because of the Detroit Lions' preseason game against the Bills. The meeting is at La Senorita in Lansing. The meeting starts at 5:30pm and ends at 8:00pm. I hope to see you at this meeting. If you cannot attend this meeting, please mark your calendar so you can attend the next two meetings. The next two meetings are on Thursday, December 2, 2010 and Thursday, March 7, 2011. (See www.imamichigan.org/events for more information on our September meeting.)
I am looking forward to seeing you all at the Fall Conference. Please remember to register early and save a few dollars. Early Bird registration is still open until September 30, 2010.
If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to either call or e-mail me. Your feedback is always welcome.
